“It 1” commonly known as “It Chapter One” is a horror film that was made in 2017 and was directed by Andy Muschietti. It lasts for about two hours and fifteen minutes. The film was produced by New Line Cinema, Lin Pictures, Vertigo Entertainment and KatzSmith Productions.
This movie is about a group of bullied kids that get together to defeat a shape-shifting monster called “It”. This monster disguises itself as a clown and comes every twenty-seven years to prey on the children of Derry, Maine.
Bill Denbrough, whose brother Georgie had disappeared, decided to recruit his friends and create a group called “The Losers’ Club”. This group consisted of: Bill, Beverly Marsh (a girl bullied because of rumours about her having strange relationships), Richie Tozier (one of Bill’s friends), Ben Hanscom (the smartest member of the club), Stan Uris (the youngest member of the club), Eddie Kaspbrak (the oldest member of the club, and the only member Pennywise is afraid of) and Mike Hanlon (an orphan child that had been befriended by the group).
Our favourite aspect of this movie is teamwork. Bill initially created the group to find his little brother, Georgie. They began experiencing horrific events and eventually they linked this to an evil entity called “It.” After researching, they found out that It was living in an old, abandoned house. They decided to group and went in the house, but the clown had challenges for them. For example, he made the school bully go insane, kill his own father and then attack the group. This failed because while attacking them, he was pushed over the well by Mike.
They entered the clown’s secret lair and saw mountains of circus props, clothing, shoes and, most terrifying of all, bodies. They went on to save their friend, Beverly, and they fought the clown by working together and hitting It from various positions, eventually making it retreat. At one point the clown took Bill, the leader, hostage and told the group that he would leave and hibernate if they let It consume Bill. Obviously, they denied and continued attacking the clown. In the end, the group fought the clown and they finally managed to “kill” it.
Why do we recommend this film? We recommend this film because it is about a group of friends that get together and use teamwork to their advantage to defeat an evil entity known as “It”. This film teaches us that teamwork is the key to success.
