Monday the 18th of October 2010 at the G.T.Kirileanu Library the audio-book "The magic of the forest" was launched

Monday the 18th of October 2010 at the G.T.Kirileanu Library the audio-book “The magic of the forest” was launched. This audio-book was written by the 5th-8th grade pupils of the National College of Informatics, Piatra Neamt, in collaboration with Mr. Dan Iacob the representative of the host institution.
We came up with the idea of this audio-book after we had participated in the “Creation and Innovation Fair” with our volume “The world seen through the eyes of children” where our young and talented writers were awarded. This experience was really inspiring because they decided to use their imagination and expressiveness to create a new project. They chose texts from their volume and from other literary works all with the theme “the forest” and they learnt how to read them in the “Reading workshops”. Then we started the recordings with the help of their elder colleagues who helped also with the graphic design of the cover and the images in the book: Marian Chiriac 12th G and Paul Virlan (former) 12th A.
Once the work was finished, they became the “Reading Messengers” in the maze of the library, they presented their work to the children from the Kindergarten No.2 in Piatra Neamt in a playful spirit. The purpose was to determine the children to enter this magic world and to develop their reading skills. Magic settled in and the children became storytellers. They played together and felt the thrill of giving an interview, of being in the spotlight, of escaping from the anonymity of everyday life.
This new experience was a step forward in the future development of every child and this audio –book is certainly a pledge of remembrance.

               ENO Tree Day

Changing a bit the proverb “Don’t put off till tomorrow what you can do today” the students of the National College of Computer Science decided to celebrate ENO Tree          Day a month earlier this year . Even if this special day is on the 21st of May the students of our college initiated the project earlier, trying to offer a good example to those who are passive and indifferent to the surrounding environment.
Thus, on the 26th of April 2010 they organized ecologic activities such as planting different species of shrubs (trees). The students of several classes (XB, XA, IXC, VII, VB) offered each other support and managed to accomplish the work but they also enjoyed the encouragement of their five teachers: Mrs. Alina Sauciuc (coordinator), Mrs. Raluca Ene , Mrs. Iulia Costan, Mr. Sergiu Nistor and Mrs. Maria Berea.
Through this voluntary action all students want to show that they can combine their hobbies and school activities with solving environmental problems and they get involved in extracurricular environmentally-friendly activities, managing to accomplish something useful both for the human community and the environment.

Students and teachers from all the schools involved in the project participated at the meeting. The Romanian teachers involved in the project and a group of seven students participated in this activity.
A series of activities were developed during the mobility, such as: documentation visits in protected geographical areas, discussion sessions in which the results of the activities already performed in schools were presented and the working, monitoring and assessment tools were established. The students attended science and civic education lessons together with their Spanish colleagues and planted trees around Heidelberg College, with the aim of improving the quality of the environment. The students and the teachers presented their schools, the geographic characteristics and the traditions of each country. As well as these, some places of cultural interest in the surrounding area were visited.
The activities performed created lasting partnerships between The National College of Computer Science from Piatra Neamt and schools from Spain, Sweden and Poland, hoping that by establishing direct connections between the students and the teachers of the schools involved, we will head towards improvement in the natural and educational environment.
