- The International Conference of Scientific and Methodological Papers.
The Mathematics Competition includes an individual contest dedicated to the students belonging to VII-XII grades.
The Computer Science Competition includes a contest of general software design and one for educational software design.
The International Conference of Scientific and Methodological Papers is dedicated to teachers of various subjects who are expected to present papers about the implementation of IT and media techniques in the teaching-learning process.
In order to achieve our goals, we invite the colleagues who express their wish to participate in our conference to a real exchange of expertise in the creation of original didactic materials that could be presented in the form of self-created educational software or IT tools.
We cordially invite you to take part in The International Festival of Mathematics and Computer Science with a group of maximum 12 students (grades VII-XII), accompanied by two teachers.
The guests, both teachers and students, will receive accommodation at the students’ hostel of The National College of Computer Science, 12 Mihai Viteazu Street, Piatra Neamţ, Romania.
The meals and accommodation are free for all the guests, being financially supported by the organizers. We also provide you with further details regarding the regulations of each contest and of the conference.

Scientific and Methodological Papers Conference
Between 26-30th January, 2010, National College of Computer Sciences from Piatra Neamt was a welcoming host, while mentoring for those interested in sciences, the organizer of the International Festival of Mathematics and Computer Sciences.
Its official opening took place on Tuesday, January 26th, 2010, at the Youth Theater in Piatra Neamt, where the Romanian spiritual dimension became a concrete one, generating feelings of national pride. The Festival gathered this year, students and teachers in Bulgaria, Estonia, Lithuania, Germany, Moldova, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine and Romania.
The idea of the International Festival of Mathematics and Computer Sciences was born after year a group of students from National College of Computer Sciences participated in a festival of mathematics and physics in Kiev, last year. The competition consisted both in an individual contest, and a team one. On this occasion, it was found that Romanian students lack teamwork experience. To overcome this difficulty, this festival edition proposed a team contest in mathematics intended to familiarize competitors with this type of competition. Basically, since 2007 there has been the International Competition of Mathematics and Computer Sciences, called PROSOFT @ NT, which used to cover the two disciplines: computer sciences having two sections- educational software and programming tools , and mathematics with the individual contest. In 2008 it was extended to teh Scientific Communication Session „ In Memoriam Vasile Ţifui "that addresses different specialties teachers presenting works towards implementing the IT and media facilities in the educational process, and this year we have added to evidence the team contest.
Professor Mihai Gontineac, Associate dean of the Faculty of Mathematics, "Al. I. Cuza Chairman of the Mathematics section of this edition, ensured the smooth running of all competitions. The degree of difficulty of subjects was a relatively high one, but good preparation for competitors to put in value the idea that mathematics is learned and taught with passion and dedication. Everyone benefited from the competition, being the beneficiary of an experience which added quality to personal development.
Chairman of the computer section was Professor Emil Cretu, Dean of the Faculty of Informatics, University "Titu Maiorescu", Bucharest. The Computer Sciences contest consisted, as noted above, of two different sections: on the one hand, educational software and commercial section, on the other hand, programming section, individual contest where participated IX – XIIth students. Platforms created by students and presented in the first section aimed at trying to facilitate information in a specific area in the assimilation of content from their respective disciplines. Two programmes are worth mentioning: "Romanian Gulag" is an educational platform, for knowledge of national history, conducted by Ionut Anisia and Alexandru Paduraru, from the National College of Computer Sciences , Piatra Neamţ and "Neuros Lab" which is an application of psychology developed by Alexandru Ionut Budisteanu, from the National College "Mircea cel Batran" in Ramnicu Valcea.
The award ceremony was held on Saturday, January 30, 2010, at 09.00 at the National College of Computer Sciences in Piatra Neamt. In a solemn atmosphere, being hosted by Elena Irimia-Genoveva Irimia , Headmaster of the National College of Computer Sciences, were awarded prizes to the best students who have demonstrated thorough knowledge, founded on hard work and dedication. Partners of the event were Romania's National Commission for UNESCO, Microsoft Romania, Neamt County Council and Mayor of Piatra Neamt, Foundation „Dan Voiculescu“ for the Development of Romania and Foundation "Dinu Patriciu“.
